Welcome to AngelDiary (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your child’s personal and emotional data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your child’s data when you use our services.
2. Data We Collect
We only collect the minimum data required to provide emotional wellbeing features:
- Child’s first name or nickname (optional).
- Child’s diary entries (text, mood, emoji).
- Sentiment analysis score (calculated automatically from diary text).
- Parent’s email ID / mobile number (for verification).
- Parental consent status (true/false).
We do NOT collect: child’s phone number, location, Aadhaar number, biometrics, or financial data.
3. Purpose of Data Use
The data is used only for the following purposes:
- To let children record their emotions.
- To allow parents to monitor their child’s emotional wellbeing.
- To provide streaks, badges, and positive reinforcement to kids.
- To improve the app experience in a safe and secure manner.
We never use children’s data for ads, profiling, or marketing.
4. Consent & Parental Rights
- A parent/guardian must provide explicit consent before a child account is created.
- Consent may be given via OTP verification, DigiLocker, or Aadhaar OTP (future).
- Parents have the right to access, delete data, or withdraw consent.
5. Data Sharing
Stored securely on Google Firebase. Not shared with third parties except as required by law.
6. Security Measures
- Encryption in transit & at rest.
- Firebase Security Rules restrict access.
- Re-authentication required for sensitive actions.
7. Data Retention
Diary entries stored for 3 years. Parents may request early deletion.
